With NetSuite connecting its core operations, Gro-Well Brands improved inventory planning, accelerated financial reporting, and drove 15% revenue growth.
Gro-Well Brands was running three entities on spreadsheets and disconnected systems. The month-end close ran late, inventory and sales data did not line up, and accounts payable depended on paper. Our team implemented NetSuite SuiteSuccess Manufacturing Premium with customizations built for fertilizer manufacturing. The project added WIP and Routings, Work Orders and Assemblies, Demand Planning, and automated AP workflows to connect finance, inventory, and sales on one platform.
Gro-Well Brands is one of the largest manufacturers of organic lawn and garden products in the United States. Established in 1975, the company makes all-natural fertilizers, soils, mulches, and compost at production facilities in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Washington. It has 51 to 200 employees and operates as three entities. Gro-Well supplies large retail partners, including Home Depot. Sustainability is central to its work: the company diverts over 320,000 tons of organic waste from landfills every year.

Gro-Well’s teams were managing manufacturing, inventory, sales, and finance through processes that did not share information easily. This made it harder to track what was being produced and available, plan inventory around customer demand, and keep up with financial work. As a result, important decisions required more manual coordination, while teams spent valuable time working through routine administrative tasks.
Manufacturing and inventory activity was difficult to track, leaving teams without a reliable view of available stock and production status.
Disconnected sales and inventory information made it difficult to forecast demand and determine the inventory needed to meet customer requirements.
Gro-Well needed to maintain product availability for major retail customers, but limited inventory and demand visibility made fulfillment harder to manage.
Invoice processing depended on manual scanning and matching, taking significant staff time and requiring regular overtime to keep up.
The implementation began with Gro-Well’s existing processes and requirements. From mapping workflows to configuring NetSuite, migrating historical data, and preparing users, each stage was focused on making the new system work for the way the business operates.
Existing processes were reviewed to identify where spreadsheet-based work, manual handoffs, and disconnected information affected day-to-day operations.
NetSuite was configured around Gro-Well’s manufacturing and business processes, with custom workflows, forms, and reports added where standard functionality needed to be adapted.
Master records, opening balances, open transactions, and four years of General Ledger history were migrated into NetSuite to give teams a complete starting point.
Users received 30 hours of training before go-live, followed by 80 hours of post-go-live support to help teams adopt the new system and workflows.
NetSuite gave Gro-Well one place to manage the work behind its manufacturing business, from purchasing materials and planning production to tracking inventory, serving customers, and managing financials. The setup combined standard NetSuite capabilities with configurations and custom workflows around the way Gro-Well actually operates.
WIP, Routings, Work Orders, and Assemblies configured around Gro-Well’s fertilizer manufacturing processes and production requirements.
Inventory information connected with manufacturing and sales, replacing disconnected views of materials, finished goods, and availability.
Demand forecasts connected with inventory requirements to support production planning and product availability for retail customers.
Purchasing connected with inventory and financial processes, providing greater visibility into materials, orders, vendors, and purchasing activity.
Centralized financial reporting and real-time access to financial information replaced fragmented reporting and spreadsheets across the business.
Customer records, leads, opportunities, and sales activity were brought together in one place for a more complete view of customer relationships.
Invoice processing moved into digital workflows, replacing manual scanning and matching with a more efficient accounts payable process.
Customer statements automated and receivables information centralized, giving the finance team better visibility into outstanding balances and collections.
The implementation changed more than individual workflows. Gro-Well gained a faster, more disciplined way to handle financial operations, manage working capital, support customer demand, and absorb additional workload. The result was a leaner operation with fewer manual dependencies, stronger financial control, and greater capacity to support growth without putting more pressure on the teams running the business every day overall.
Finance moved from a lengthy, spreadsheet-heavy close process to a predictable monthly cycle, saving 1,040 hours annually.
Digital invoice processing eliminated regular overtime, saving the AP team several hours of work each day.
Better stock availability for major retail partners helped Gro-Well convert sales faster, contributing to 15% revenue growth.
98% of receivables are collected within 90 days, with only 2% remaining beyond the 90-day mark.
Accurate cash flow forecasts strengthened banking relationships, while cleaner data reduced audit preparation and external hours.
A lean administrative team handles more work without added headcount, with less reliance on Excel/spreadsheets reducing errors and rework.
If your teams are spending too much time updating spreadsheets, reconciling information, and chasing numbers, it may be time for a different approach.
