State-of-the-art Mobile App to Track Inventory & Manage Fields Operations
Managing field activities, such as tillage, spraying, planting, and harvesting, and keeping track of the inventory to track workforce tasks and progress was difficult.
The client sought to develop a mobile work order management app for use by its managers, operators, and office personnel, for their field tasks and inventory management.
A Fields & Inventory Operations Management mobile app is designed that gives incredible benefits over any remaining earlier techniques used for field workers and to manage agricultural inventory.
ILS is a cattle feeding, farming, and agribusiness firm with operations in Kansas and Nebraska, Innovative Livestock Services, Inc., was founded in Central Kansas in the late 1970s as an independent cattle feedlot. Over the course of the last 40 years, Innovative Livestock Services is a collection of farms and feed yards that raise healthy, wholesome beef.
It was challenging for the ILS to manage fields and track inventory. Finding a solution for these issues required a great deal of planning and expertise. To remain competitive, they needed technology investments and adapt their focus to take advantage of new technological development and opportunities.
The solution is to build a Fields & Inventory Operations Management mobile app accessible to field workers and operators and to manage inventory, enabling the client to eliminate the risk of missing tasks in the field.
First, we identified the challenges being faced by the client. We dissected the problems, prioritized them, and identified the critical parts. We created user personas and identified the pain points for each persona.
Since we mutually decided to customize an existing product, we built wireframes for the additional features and got them approved before creating designs.
Our developers then incorporated the additional requirements of the client into the solution with the help of the wireframes and designs.
After synchronizing and integrating the solution with the client’s data and requirements, the solution was implemented.
With this feature, the workflow goes through three standard levels of approval/rejection. The field managers can also resubmit a rejected job by other operators in authority.
Seed lots feature controls inventory for seeds and helps the inventory management to create, view, update, and delete seed lot for grading, storage quality, recalls/mock recall, and audits. It also helps in searching, filtering, and sorting the listed seed lots and marking them as active or inactive.
With the notification feature, the users will get notified when a task gets assigned when the task was submitted or which task gets approved/rejected by the supervisor, office staff, or accounting staff.
The offline support feature helps the management and operators can view assigned jobs and submit data in offline mode or when they are not connected. It also helps synchronize the data automatically.
This feature helps the users by creating Lists of Tank Mixes that help in searching, sorting, & filtering Tank Mixes and deleting exhausted resources. It also marks Tank Mixes as active or inactive.
Create, view , update or delete the products from the system. It assigns product IDs, sorts them into types, and lists them down for searching and filtering. It also marks the product’s status as active or inactive.
Create, view, update, and delete all the equipment. They can search, filter, and/or sort all the equipment in the inventory with ease. It also marks their status as active or inactive.
The users are able to create, view, update, and delete all the fields the client has. They can search, filter, and/or sort all the fields mentioned in the list with ease. It also marks their status as active or inactive.
This feature lists down all the water sources for the users. Creates new, deletes which are not needed and keeps updated onto tracking workforce tasks and progress the present statuses.
Our expert development team used React Native technology to develop the solution for the Client’s needs. The results helped them to speed up the field’s operations and also to better track the ongoing and planned jobs in the fields. Inventory management was also taken care of with better tracking to avoid precedented wastage and save up the cost.
